Giddy & Gold » Houston Wedding and Lifestyle Photography

If you follow Giddy & Gold on Facebook, you can probably tell that I am obsessed with this wedding. I was really holding back not posting all of my favorites there every day. So obviously, I’m so excited to finally share these images!:)

When I’m blessed to photograph a couple’s engagements and bridals, I get SO excited for their wedding day – I feel like I know them and just can’t wait to see it all come together! And come together it did! Such femininity, great rustic flair, vintage finds, and light, airy colors. Katie truly took the vintage look and breathed such life into it. It was gorgeous!

And I need to take a moment to talk about their wedding favors. Katie & Drew LOVE coffee, so each guest got their own coffee mug (inscribed with ‘love is brewing’ – adorbs) and a small pouch of delicious smelling coffee. How cute is that?! So personal and different!

Two of the most important choices Katie and Andrew made to contribute to the absolute success of their wedding was choosing the venue and wedding designer they did. It makes all the difference in the world to not only choose a beautiful, accommodating venue, but to pair it with a wildly talented and enjoyable wedding planner. Good call, Mr. & Mrs. Brown! With a special shout-out to their amazing team of vendors, I hope you will enjoy these photos – I definitely do!:)

Let’s take a break from weddings and sessions, shall we? That’s exactly what the Hubz and I did last week – kissed work goodbye and cruised towards Northwest Arkansas! His family lives in Siloam Springs and we were long overdue for a visit. Usually when we go, we are not there for long and we are grabbing as much family time as possible. Thankfully, this time we stayed longer and spent some QT in the beautiful Ozarks.

First, we spent a day hiking (with the pup!) in Devil’s Den. There is this BEAUTIFUL spot where you can over look the mountains, trees, a river, etc. Love. Then we hiked another trail with crevices, caves, springs, and teensy waterfalls. Gorgeous. All topped off with some homemade chicken salad sandwiches on ciabatta rolls. And cheez-its because WHY WOULD YOU SNACK ON ANYTHING ELSE? (Side note, check out this chicken salad recipe – the Jordans highly recommend!)

The next day we canoed the Illinois River. There are no photos of this particular event because cameras and water don’t mix. And praise Jesus I have such common sense, because we most definitely flipped that canoe and it was way scarier than I anticipated. Before you think I’m a wuss, know that: 1. there was a strong current because the river was 2.5 feet higher than normal. 2. my puppy was tied to the canoe. 3. the canoe got stuck on trees in the middle of the river. Even though I am nursing scratches and bruises, I can confidently say I had a blast!

After we dried off, we spent the rest of the time with family. So enjoy a couple cute shots of them below!

And did I mention the weather was in the upper 70s and lower 80s while we were there??!? I love Texas like Tim Riggins, but dang I could get used to that!

Now I’m all rested, recharged, and ready to hit the computer screen for some quality editing time.:)

My SIL and her family are moving to Colorado for 7 months! So of course we had to get a couple quick shots of them and my precious nieces!

Hubz and his cousin and high school bestie. S’cute to see them chit-chatty.

My family-in-law! Love these people and can’t wait for them to all move to Texas next year!!!!!!!!!!!;)
Um please, can we talk about bad-mood-babies? I want to take all the photos of them. Especially little Vivvy looking very adult-depressed for a babe!

We are so glad you and Trevor got to spend a few days with us! The pictures are AWESOME, as always!! Glad you both were able to get some fun time in while you were here!! Love you!!

After Brandi and Patrick’s engagement session ON Lake Conroe, I was SO excited about their wedding. Brandi was funny, and real, and outgoing and I instantly connected with her! And Patrick is seriously the nicest groom I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. That’s one of the things I love about engagement sessions – it’s a fun little reunion when I arrive to the wedding. No awkward “Hi, I’m so-and-so and I’m about to be right by your side on the most important day of your life!” Instead, I know them. I feel like we are friends and I’m excited to see them after so long!

Truly, I have the best job. Making friends and taking pictures!

Any way, back to the wedding. It was such a fun night that went off without a hitch! Best parts from my perspective:

1. Watching the families all have fun. Both Patrick and Brandi’s family are fun, funny, and DTP (down to party, duh).
2. Watching Patrick get nervous/giddy right before the ceremony started.
3. Watching Brandi spend the ENTIRE reception on the dance floor – GET. IT. GIRL.

Hope you two had a blast in Jamaica!:)Enjoy your sneak peek:
