Giddy & Gold » Houston Wedding and Lifestyle Photography

My sister is married y’all! Weird.

Though her home has been Memphis for a while, we both consider Huntsville, Texas to be our hometown (we moved there right before high school). She came home during the summer to visit and try on wedding dresses. We were so happy to find “The One” and  conveniently have time for her bridal session. My mom and I actually threw Tammie a surprise bridal tea/shower at Austin Hall on Sam Houston State University’s campus. We decided to shoot her portraits in and around the building right afterwards. I love that we did it there. Neither Tammie nor I went to SHSU, but the university is such a big part of Huntsville. She took her prom photos there. We’ve been to parties and live music there. We’ve driven around campus countless times. I hope these bridal portraits bring a touch of home to her most important season of life!

YAY Mr. & Mrs. Banko! But let’s focus on the prettiest Banko:

You are so very talented Rebecca Jordan and you brought out all of Tammie’s beauty

The forecast was stormy, the skies were dark grey, and the humidity was outta control. All the makings of a session gone bad. Thankfully, Kim and Richard decided to risk it and we met up anyway for their engagement session at Mercer Arboretum.

I’m SO glad we did. A cloudy day is my favorite, the weather was cooler, and there was hardly anyone around! It was perfect. And Kim and Richard were one of the most chill couples ever. We walked around the gardens chatting about GoPros, Rudy’s BBQ, and what a cool spot the arboretum really is. I’ve done a couple of other sessions there but had no idea as to the depth of the place! So much color, different textures, gorgeous scenery. Happy we had a low-key day to explore it all.

I can’t wait for Kim & Richard’s wedding – ti’s going to be a PARTY, I can feel it! Until then, enjoy a snippet of their summer engagement session.

That was Tammie & Ryan – always laughing and making googly eyes at each other. Ryan would run to the car for something and upon his return, Tammie would exclaim “HI!” as if she hadn’t seen him yet that day.

So I knew this would maybe be the easiest session ever and I was so right. They took direction so well and would immediately smile and laugh and kiss each other. Yay for them and yay for me! Because these are some of my favorite images EVER. Note to all future brides: when you are in love it shows and you don’t have to worry about looking awkward or being nervous!

Oh and by the way, this is my sister and soon to be bro in law! So after our session at Swiss Avenue and Highland Park in Dallas, we swung on over to The Porch for some delicious “we earned it!” dinner with friends. It was a great day in Dallas and I’m thrilled to share these photos. Tammie and Ryan – I hope you love them. I also hope you love me enough to move back to Texas soon. K, thanks.
